An Outdoor Living Room for DTSA

*Completed while Director at Studio One Eleven

The Roost is a place to gather for a diverse community in Downtown Santa Ana. Comprising an abandoned filling station, barn, and duplex, the Roost was renovated in late 2015 into an eclectic mix of shops, hospitality, and housing.

Along with the repurposed buildings (which now serve as a Yoga Studio, a florist, an ice cream shop and three residential units), three shipping containers were added to the site to create an outdoor beer garden and restaurant. Mature trees create an intimate canopy for outdoor dining and community gatherings. The site includes eclectic landscaping and furnishings throughout, including railroad ties in lieu of parking striping.
